The First Congress of Mathematicians of Kazakhstan was held from April 3 to 7, 2026, in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. Within the framework of this major scientific event, six international conferences were organized, including one titled “Inverse and Ill-Posed Problems: Theory, Applications, and AI.”
The congress brought together leading scientists from Russia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Belgium, China, Turkey, and other countries. A special highlight of the event was the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the renowned academician T. Kalmenov.
Scientific Presentations and Insights: Plenary and breakout sessions featured world-class mathematicians, including academicians M. Otelbaev and T. Kalmenov, and professors Ch. Ashyraliev (Turkey), S. Kabanikhin, A. Pskhu (Russia), M. Ruzhansky (Belgium), I. Felde (Hungary), E. Azizbekov (Azerbaijan), and K. Khompysh (Kazakhstan).
Representing Uzbekistan, Professor Ravshan Ashurov, Head of the Laboratory of Differential Equations and Their Applications at the Institute of Mathematics, delivered a presentation. His talk, titled "Uniqueness for an inverse problem of determining order and temporal factor of the source for subdiffusion equation," was co-authored with Professor M. Yamamoto from the University of Tokyo and focused on critical scientific advancements in subdiffusion equation models.
