A solemn session dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event was attended by Academician Shavkat Ayupov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The gathering brought together prominent scientists, academicians, and leading representatives of the science and education sectors from various countries.

The session was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. In his address, he specifically highlighted the Academy's immense contribution to the development of science in the country.

“Over these 80 years, the Academy has traveled a long path, and it can be said that it has played a leading role in the development of science in Azerbaijan,” said Ilham Aliyev.

The President also congratulated the staff of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, all scientists, and the entire people of Azerbaijan on this important date—the 80th jubilee of the Academy.

Taking the floor, Academician Shavkat Ayupov, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, sincerely congratulated the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, all its members, and the people on this historic date on behalf of Uzbek scientists.

In his congratulatory speech, he emphasized that scientific cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is strengthening year by year, and these relations are based on the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the two nations. Shavkat Ayupov also expressed confidence in the further development of joint scientific projects, research, and academic exchange programs in the future.

During the event, Shavkat Ayupov was presented with the 80th Anniversary Commemorative Badge of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. This symbolizes the high appreciation of the scientific ties between the two countries.
